About The Vomit Clock Museum
Our mission: to be an educational resource on the past history and current pop culture significance of the aesthetically unique craft art form of embedding objects in resin.
The Vomit Clock Museum is a digital museum cataloging the history of object-embedded resin clocks, colloquially known as “vomit clocks.” These acrylic resin clocks, typically produced in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, provoke intrigue and curiosity from those who behold them. Some revile them, some love them – either way, these clocks are a time capsule into the style and home decor of decades past—an interesting and vibrant slice of mid-century Americana.
The Vomit Clock Museum aims to curate scholarly literature around these clocks. Sources currently are heavily limited to Facebook groups, including VOMIT CLOCKS!, as there is not much accessible, open-to-the-public scholarship about these interesting mid-century pieces.
The Vomit Clock Museum is continually working to source more articles, historical references, and scholarly literature on this topic. The Vomit Clock Museum is not a 501c3 nonprofit or another nonprofit entity. The Vomit Clock Museum is a time-intensive passion project by a person obsessed with learning more about the history of this mid-century craft.
